On the occasion of the one-year anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, we wish to share with you the testimonies of three Ukrainian Roma women, who recounted to Szymon Opryszek, a distinguished journalist from Oko.press, the harrowing impact of a single tragic night amidst a year of great cruelty.
Their poignant stories bear witness to the toll that war and conflict have taken on their lives and the lives of countless others affected by this tragedy. In sharing these narratives, we hope to honor the strength and resilience of the Ukrainian people in the face of unspeakable adversity.
Text and visual materials are available in three languages – Polish, Ukrainian, and English – to facilitate wider accessibility and understanding.
